ISO9001:2008 - 13 July

Synergy Composites has been approved by Lloyds Register Quality Assurance to the following Quality Management Standards ISO9001:2008.  The Quality Management System is applicable to the 'development and manufacture of advanced composite components in accordance to the client requirements'. 123insight Goes Live! - 07 June

Synergy Composites has just installed and implemented the latest version of 123insght.  This ERP/MRP systems will provide Synergy with the ability to control all aspects of the business and manufacturing operations. The fully integrated (ERP/MRP) system will assist Synergy in positioning ourselves at the leading edge of the advanced composites supply chain.  Our next objective will be to create a seamless link between JETCAM and 123insight, this will be achived within the next 2 months.

Joint Working Agreement with Trelleborg AEM - 27 May

Synergy Composites have been working in partnership with Trelleborg for the last 12 months, developing new techniques and processes to assist various products.  This rolling 2 year agreement solidifies the working relationship between Synergy Composites and Trelleborg and hopefully paves the way for future agreements.

Farnborough International Air Show - 20 May

JEC Paris Exhibition - 13 - 15 April

The JEC Paris composites exhibition was eventful as usual, noteably for the Icelandic Volcanic eruption and the inability for most of the exhibitors to return to the UK, with the exception of Synergy and our good friends Cristex! Synergy will shortly announce news regarding manufacturing agreements and working partners that were confirmed during the exhibition in Paris.

FabLab- 24 March

Synergy Composites attended the launch of the FabLab with the Manufacturing Institute at the 'House of Commons'.  This event was attended by various leaders of industry and OEM manufacturing organisations.  The focus of the FabLab is to generate interest in manufacturing by young people and provide an entry level for them to try out new ideas and inventions.  It was good to see young people being introduced into engineering.

Lord Sugar- 02 March

Synergy Composites attended the 'Lord Sugar wants to meet' event at the De Vere Whites hotel in Bolton.  The event as organised by Businesslink Northwest and was aimed at encouraging and inspiring SME's in the NW to develop and grow their organisations.

 

JEC Composite Exhibition Paris  - Feb

Synergy Composites will be attending the JEC Composites Paris exhibition on the 23th - 15th April 2010.  If you would like to arrange a meeting, please submit a request to info@synergycomposites.com.  As previous years Synergy aims to develop our network of customers and suppliers,  focusing on the renewable, automotive and marine industies.

 

Continued Investment - 18 Jan

Synergy Composites are continuing to invest in new plant and machinery, this week we have seen orders be placed for several key pieces of specialist equipment.  The main being an order for a specialist resin transfer machine that is capable of digital micro control, capturing all manufacturing parameters and data throughout the transfer process.  This piece of equipment will be utilised within the development of wind turbine blades and it is hoped that future aeropsace projects may benefit from the equipment.

 

The NWAA wins ASCE 2 funding from the NWDA - 16 Dec

Synergy Composites wholeheartedly support the NWDA and NWAA with the ASCE2 programme.  Synergy aim to support the NWAA Composite Commodity Group and be actively involved in the supply cahin workshops.  The newly appointed director of the NWAA Andrew White has indicated that the next 12 months will be an exciting time for the NWAA, the announcement that they have received funding for ASCE 2 despite the recession and the difficulties it has posed, the outlook looks bright for ourt sector. Synergy Composites are hoping to share in some of the exciting times ahead for the NWAA by accompanying them at the Farnborough Airshow which takes place 19-25 July this year.

Next Generation Composite Wing - 13 Oct 2009 

Synergy Composites were pleased to be invited to the Next Generation Composite Wing meeting in Llandudno. The event was well attended by all aspects of the aerospace and composite industries, and it was interesting to see that cross sector ties were being made as representatives of the automotive industries were also present. The focus for the event was to critically analyse the local supply chain and provide a way forward for the design and manufacture of the NGCW. Synergy Composites are keen to play a major role as we believe our fresh approach to composites manufacturing, and building strategic partnerships is key to the future of the local and national composites supply chain.

 

Annual Northern Aerospace Forum - 8 Oct 2009.

Synergy Composites attened the ANAF and this years focus was on diversification, which here at Synergy Composites we believe is the way forward and we intend to work across all sectors of the market. The event was was well attended and Synergy Composites were approached by several corperations to develope composite solutions. Synergy Composites will be actively progressing these developements as we are certain that affordable composites has its place in industry. Composites of today need not be the composites of tomorrow.

 

Investing in their Future - 4 Aug 2009.

Synergy Composites have taken ownership of their first piece of large capital equipment purchased through funding supported by local government.  The new Merlin CMM machine, specified to aerospace standards, can accommodate components up to a maximum of 1.1m x 3m x1m.  Synergy intend to complete the commissioning and installation of the machine over the next few weeks.  This phase of work also includes the build of a new class 7 cleanroom.

  

Local Government Support Synergy Composites - 10 Jul 2009.

Synergy Composites have been successful in their bid for funding to allow them to continue with the development of their manufacturing facility on Altham Business Park.  The funding approved will enable Synergy to develop new capabilities, such as resin transfer moulding (RTM), vacuum assisted resin transfer moulding (VaRTM) and traditional hand lay techniques.  This, in turn, will also allow them to invest in the future of the facility, equipment and its personnel.
